About me.

{ ABOUT Autumn. }

I live in Athens, Ga., but I'm a Columbia, S.C. native.

Jesus began to capture my heart about 8 years ago. I look forward to seeing Him face to face.

My husband is my buddy. I forget how old I am when I'm with him.

I love to write, even though I'm very stubborn and undisciplined about it.

When I was little, I used to sleep surrounded by books. My bibliophilia was awakened when I was hired to work at a bookstore a year ago. I won't lie, I'm a nerd and I have an account at Goodreads.com (be my friend).

The first time the camera became an extension to my hand was during a trip to Europe with my mom and aunt. Six years later, I am aching to go back like no other (especially now that I have something better than a Kodak EasyShare). The trip I'm planning in my head involves Provence's lavender fields, Cinque Terre's coastlines, maybe a Eurail trip through Austria. I know. I'm drooling.

Something Lovely: Jane Eyre is my favorite novel and I could wear flowy dresses every day of my life.
Something Wild: I love adventures. Just throw me on a plane. Also, climbing trees with friends is one of my favorite pasttimes.

Things that delight me with whimsy: golden light, birds, wildflowers, jars, trees, keys, lavender, fields, Italy, purple, and secret places.
Things that move my heart: the voice of God full of truth and sweetness, stories, shooting stars, friendship that is full of grace, and most of the things Dumbledore says.

{ ABOUT Wild & Lovely. }

What's with the name?

It took me a long time to finally find a name, but in short, this is why. Wild & Lovely is about beauty unashamed. It's about beauty being pursued and found out, that in its purest form beauty is untamed and unhindered. The fact that a garden is sometimes most breathtaking in its mess, its disarray - such is life. We were made to be discovered and unleashed. That's what I want to capture when I'm behind the lens. I want to be there when people come out of hiding, or at least help them get to the place where they no longer have to hide.

What if I'm not a dreamer? Will you still photograph my wedding?

I guess my point is, that in some way we are all dreamers. My hope is to appeal to that part of you - the part that hopes, the part that is still a child, the part that hasn't been lost. I love being creative, whether that means unique composition, location, or a theme for your shoot. Finding beauty and pulling it out is my desire. Wild & Lovely is about seeking out the hidden, beautiful things.
