Oh hey! Welcome to W&L.

'Ello friends! This is the new blog for Wild & Lovely Photography. Isn't it pretty?

I am still tweaking, designing, and readying the blog, but there are a few weddings to post, so I'm going to go on ahead and show those off. Here is Clair & Jeremy's wedding from the summer. Going through their photos was so lovely. There are so many frames where they just look beautifully caught in the moment. If there's anything I particularly love about what I do, it's being there to photograph the sincerity of such moments.

Recently I began to ask myself and ask the Lord why I should do what I do. I'll admit that capturing beauty as a vocation has seemed less noble a cause than many others. One of my favorite photographers, Clayton Austin, wrote something once that deeply moved me in light of my question (to read the full post, which I recommend, go here):

"And maybe one day down the road when they question their love and commitment for each other, perhaps they will choose to dust off the old album and travel back to a time when their heart ached for the other. And maybe it will save them."

I think there's a little nugget of truth in there somewhere. Sometimes when we see a photograph I believe it is Him telling us, "Don't forget."
